My Experience with Lakme Sun Expert Ultra Matte Gel Sunscreen SPF 50 PA+++:
The packaging is probably the only good thing about this sunscreen. It comes in a yellow tube that’s travel-friendly and functional. Product-related information has been provided on the tube, which is a plus.
This sunscreen, as the name suggests, has a gel-like texture which spreads easily on the skin. It smells nice and fresh. Another Lakme product also smells like this, but I cannot recall which one. The fragrance lasts pretty long on the skin.
This is a very lightweight sunscreen and does not feel heavy on the skin. And, that’s it – these are the good things about this sunscreen. This sunscreen is supposed to be ideal for oily skin. I do not have oily skin and still this sunscreen is super sticky, super greasy and then super slimy on my skin.
Can you imagine using a sunscreen that refuses to get absorbed by the skin? I have given many chances to this sunscreen and it has always failed me. My skin becomes sticky as soon as I apply this sunscreen and it remains that way. If my skin comes in contact with water, the product becomes slimy and icky.
It does not fulfil the role of sunscreen either. It leaves an unpleasant film on the skin that looks matte, but is still unpleasant. It does not prevent skin tanning at all.
Overall, as you can tell, I am very unhappy with this sunscreen. It does not live up to any claim and would not really suit any skin type. It makes my dry skin greasy, I cannot imagine how it would work for oily skin. I would say, skip it. Lotus Herbals offers better sunscreens that do everything they claim.
