This was made known by the Acting Director, Army Public Relations, Col. Sani Usman who also said the Nigerian army destroyed the camp of the insurgents. He said the insurgents used Faljari as their logistic base in the face-off with Nigerian troops.
According to Usman,
"Five vehicles heavily laden with Improvised Explosive Devices about to be unleashed into the society, four motorcycles, one Toyota Hilux mounted with Anti-Aircraft Guns, one Anti-Aircraft Gun, three extra barrels of Anti-Aircraft Gun, a box of Ant-Aircraft Gun Ammunition, 3 sim cards and a damaged AK-47 Rifle" were recovered from the terrorists.
Usman also said Nigerian troops destroyed five motorcycles and a Toyota Hilux vehicle decorated with the terrorists' flag.
A combined operation which involved the fighter pilots of the Nigerian Air Force and ground forces were on Friday morning able to dislogde the insurgents from Dikwa.
