10 TIPS ON HOW TO GROW HAIR OUT FASTER FROM A PIXIE CUT

10 Tips on How to Grow Hair out Faster from a Pixie Cut

Growing out a pixie cut can be tough going and there will be days that you will want to give up and get your hair cut again. You will go through many phases that you can either treat as a nightmare, or use as an opportunity to try out some new styles. You’re going to have to be patient too, because it could take you as much as one year to even get to the bob stage. If you are thinking of growing out your pixie cut, here are ten tips that will make the transition a little bit easier.

1. Prepare yourself for what’s coming

Life’s always a lot easier when you don’t get any surprises, so prepare yourself for your pixie cut growing out journey by doing a little bit of online research. There are some wonderful blogs on which people have documented their experience of growing out their hair and you can get some great tips from people who have been there before you.

2. Don’t waste the different phases

In the next twelve months, you will have loads of opportunities to try out new styles as your hair grows, so make the most of it! Growing out your hair really isn’t as bad as it may sound, so long as you have fun while you are doing it by getting your hair styled regularly. That will keep your style matched to the changing length of your hair.

3. Get ready for the headbands

Make sure that you have a good collection of headbands, because they will be a godsend when you are growing out a pixie cut, especially in the early stages. Headbands are the best way to keep your hair under control and keep your fringe out of your eyes. There are loads of things you do with a headband and so many different types of headbands available, so take a trip to the shops and build a nice collection of pretty headbands before you start growing out your hair.

4. Keep our hair well-trimmed

Even though you want your hair to grow, you will still need to keep it trimmed. You will find that different sections of your hair grow at different rates, so you will need to have regular trims to keep your hair looking neat, tidy and even. Most people find that back of their hair grows the fastest, so that will probably need trimming and thinning most often.

5. Let your hair grow out in sections

As we mentioned above, your hair will probably grow faster at the back than at the front, so you will need to let your hair grow in sections to keep it balanced. Keep the hair at the back of your head well-trimmed as the front section grows out and then you’ll have a great looking shaggy pixie look rather than an out of control mullet.

6. Use the right product on your hair

When you are growing out your hair it is even more important to keep up with your hair care regime. Use products that nourish and strengthen your hair and that will keep your hair looking great and it will encourage faster growth.

7. Learn to love bobby pins

When all seems lost, there are always bobby pins to rescue you from a potential disaster. Check out some of the many transition styles that other people have used and you will find that the trusty bobby pin is the heart of many of them. A little bit of twisting and pinning and you can get the longest layers of hair out of your face and you can create some pretty amazing looking styles too.

8. Use texture

Curling your hair will be a great way to hide some of the unevenness as your hair grows out. It can be difficult to curl short hair, because there isn’t a lot of to get hold of, but if you use a very small curling iron, it can work. Adding texture to your hair with curls or waves will hide any uneven lengths and it can be useful for disguising the annoying curled up ends at the bottom of the back of your hair that you are likely to get.

9. Experiment with styling

When you get the, not quite short, but not quite long, phase, try experimenting with your style. There’s lots of things can do with the in-between hair, you can part your hair in different ways, you can add volume and embrace the shag, and you can try different ways of keeping your fringe out of your eyes. This is when the bobby pins will come into play!

10. Style as a bob as soon as you can

Once your hair gets to about jaw length, you can start styling it as a bob. When you get that stage you’re over the worst of it and you can then continue to trim and style your bob as you hair continues to grow in length.

Stay beautiful!
